Campstove Stew &
Dumplings
Ingredients:
- 1# ground beef
- 2 med. onions, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2c coarsely chopped cabbage
- 1/2c diced celery
- 1 16oz can stewed tomatoes

- 1 16oz can kidney beans
- 1c water
- salt/pepper to taste
- 1-2t chili powder
- Bisquick™ Dumpling dough

- Preparation:
- In Dutch oven, cook and stir meat until light
brown; drain. Add onion, cabbage and celery; cook
and stir until vegetables are light brown. Stir
in tomatoes, kidney beans (with liquid), water
and seasonings. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and
simmer while preparing dumpling dough from
directions on box. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto
simmering stew, cook uncovered 10 minutes or
until the dough is set.
